C300 Mark II in Low Light, Slo Mo and with Dual Pixel Auto Focus

Whenever you buy an expensive new camera, you can't help but wonder from time to time if it was a good investment. Thankfully for the C300 Mark II this hasn't been the case for me. As of this month, the investment has been recoup'ed in full after just a few months of on and off work! Clients love the look and I've got a 4K Raw capable camera for all my personal projects as well! 

So this was a music video I shot for a friend recently. In doing this I wanted to just use in-camera looks and avoid color grading as much as possible. Also I really wanted to see how good the Dual Pixel AF was working after the latest firmware update. There's a couple drone shots that were done on a Phantom 4 and a couple shots from the A7S.

I knew I didn't want to spend a lot of time in post, so I turned off the Cinema Presets and opened up the in-camera options and am pretty pleased with the results I got! 

This was a single day shoot that I did up in the beautiful Napa Valley at Centurion Ranch.

You can look at the video and reach your own conclusions as to the cameras qualities, but I think the C300 Mark II is the best single operator camera in the world. The auto-focus is just amazing, I had the singer riding on a horse towards me and away from me while I was shooting on a 70-200 Canon zoom wide-open and it nailed the focus every time.
